Invincible Summer

Invincible Summer, a reflection on themes of resilience and hope, explores how experience is encountered, gathered, and transformed, held within layered surfaces of colour, gesture, and response. Through a process of building, interrupting, and reworking, earlier marks remain present, allowing each work to carry a sense of memory and subtle shifts over time. The paintings suggest an internal landscape rather than a fixed place, where moments settle, evolve, and endure. Rooted in the understanding that we do not simply see the world but experience it, the work invites an open encounter, allowing each viewer to find their own sense of connection and meaning within it.

“In the depths of winter, I finally learned that within me there lay an invincible summer.” — Albert Camus
